I am putting new spreaders on my COBRA 2 mast, part of a long project upgrading my McGO. 25066. The new spreaders require a new spreader bracket. The problems are: The new and old spreader brackets do not have the same hole spacing (what a surprise). If I locate the spreader bracket at the same height as the old one then I have eight holes pretty close together. Re drilling the new spreader bracket may not be possible as I am not sure I could get a pop rivet in there if I did. Should I move the spreader bracket up or down and if so what is the best location? I have searched the rule book and not found requirements for the location. If I remember from strength of materials I need the new hole to be about three to five radii away from existing hole to avoiding messy stress concentrations. That means moving this up or down an inch or so would be enough. Any comments or guidance. I hope those who have not decided to go to Natrionals will reconsider. I pulled the weather off the net and the winds will be a very pleasant sea breeze. Look for me way in the back with the shiny new spreaders.
